My Journey to Now
I am blessed to have what a therapist has called a drive to wholeness. I became pregnant with Cassandra at 24 and discovered then the world of non fiction books. My life opened up and I could even say began when I realized that I could find answers to life in books and from others, answers that could enrich my life and give me guidance where darkness, confusion and discomfort had always laid before. That I could study what interested me and could add true value to my daily life.
For the next 5 years I read hundreds of books, attended parenting groups and conferences, involved myself in groups that shared the values that I had and with which I wanted to raise my kids, which were in alignment with my values, which resonated with my deepest inner knowing.
There lived inside of me a knowing that children can grow up feeling whole, valuable, loved and knowing that they are perfect exactly as they are. I was determined that I would find a way to raise my kids in that way and that they wouldn't grow up as I did with a sense of not feeling loved, that something was wrong with them, and that they had to continually change who they were and every impulse that they had in order to be acceptable and approved of. I am so grateful for that drive and my ability to find the answers I was looking for, both in books, conversations and inside of me.
When my 3rd daughter was born, I suffered a 16 month long depression, which did not match the symptoms of postpartum depression. Though I may never know with certainty what caused it, I'm guessing that it was about wanting for myself the sense of self which I was a witness to all day long in my children.
My primary focus since Gaby was born in 1998 has been to heal in me all that interferes with my ability to live the way that my children do: with a knowing that they are whole and perfect as they are, with confidence, with a freedom of heart. I have read innumerable books, done therapy, love addiction work, life coaching, intensively applied (and trained in, in a few cases) the teachings of Abraham-Hicks, Harville Hendricks, Gay and Kathleen Hendrix, Debbie Ford, Byron Katie, Eckhart Tolle, Nonviolent Communication, The Presence Process, Oneness University, Shematrix, The Sedona Method, Adyashanti, Gangaji, Scott Kiloby's Living Inquiries, Fred Davis and Rupert Spira.
I always had a knowing that I could also heal myself and live from a place of inner joy and freedom, just as I aspired to for my kids. I'm grateful to be able to say that this increasingly is my base and daily experience.
I have been asked to write a parenting book both as a result of conference presentations I gave in 1997 and because of a clarity that I have in interacting with my kids and in general when I discuss the topic with others. I recently decided that I needed to pass on the knowledge that I discovered and applied with my kids as I observe the beautiful result in them. They are now adults and have an unshakable sense of self, are inner motivated, successful, capable, kind, have a wonderful relationship together. I have no concerns whatsoever about their future, felt totally confident watching my oldest move 1200 miles away from me to go to college, knowing she is fully capable to take care of herself. How many parents of 3 teenage girls could say the teens years are easy and worry free?!? I yearn to share that experience, vision and open parents to that possibility.
I am blessed (and at times cursed!) to have an inner knowing and drive which lead me to relentlessly pursue wholeness for both me and my kids, and achieve my goals for our inner well being. Three proofs that the parenting approach I teach leads to children who are whole, authentic, successful in what matters most to them, inner motivated, have the ability to find their own happiness in the world, and to a harmonious family life. A huge amount of knowledge and personal experience in personal growth and healing work THAT WORKS! And a gift in supporting people in achieving healing and letting go of limitations in an remarkably short amount of time. I love watching my clients shed what's been interfering with their natural ability to have what matters most to them and see it quickly come into their lives as a result of our work together.
I'd LOVE to work with you if you'd like to have the same results in your family as I have in mine! Click here to find out more.
